Please meet here the beautiful, family pets that live on our hobby farm. Our dogs, cats, horses, sheep, goats, ducks, turkeys, chickens and rabbits. We love each and every one of these creatures and most come with a story to be told.
Our dogs:
We have three dogs that are full of energy. They like to run, play and go for walks.

Our cats:
We have seven cats. All are rescue cats.
Momma Cass was a stray cat that visited our property. She would never let you get close to her, she always ran away. We thought she was a he until one morning we found four little kittens. We rescued the kittens and Momma Cass and because no organization would help with the kittens and momma we felt we only had two options. We decided to keep momma and her kittens. Momma Cass and her four kittens Romeo, Sampson, Lily and Twila are happy here on the farm.

Our horses:
When I moved to the farm in 2000 the only animals on the farm were three horses. Bandit a quarter horse/morgan mix, Lady a standard bred, and Girl a standard bred. Lady is the last remaining of the original three horses. She is kind, gentle and a large horse - referred to as the gentle giant.
Passion, Bella and Dakota were born and raised on the farm. Bandit was the father of all three. Lady is Dakota's mother and Girl was the mother of Passion and Bella.
Miss Checkity is a gypsie varner horse born in Wales on January 1, 2008, and purchased by Sonview Gypsy Ranch in Ontario. From the moment I saw this beautiful breed of horses, my dream was to own one. After being invited to a family wedding in London, Ontario, I made arrangements to visit Sonview Gypsy Ranch. Miss Checkity was my horse from the moment I saw her but she wasn't for sale. Several weeks after returning home I received an email saying I could purchase Miss Checkity if still interested - and I was! She is a beautiful addition to our horse family.
Shadow, an American Sport Pony, was an unexpected addition to our family, and a sad little pony on her way to auction when we first saw her. She is gentle, kind, fast, spirited and likes attention. She arrived on the farm the Saturday before Mother's Day, May 2015. A perfect Mother's Day gift!

Our sheep:
Louie and Lila are a very special addition to our family. Their mother had no milk and couldn't feed them . They were so small and helpless and they were cold and hungry. When we got the call about the lambs Gerd went to our neighbor to check out the situation. He came back with the lambs and told me to care for them until he went to town to get formula. I warmed them with towels I had heated in the dryer and put them in a box. It was a hectic day and hectic few weeks. With the help and advice of our vet and friends we managed to save these little lambs.
Our newest additions to the farm family are Gus and Wolly they needed a forever home so they came to the farm and they are very happy sheep.

Our goats:
Oreo, Dominio and Ringo are nubian goats. They are triplets. Their mother rejected them when they were born and wouldn't feed them. They were a week old when we brought them to the farm and so small. They had to be bottle fed every few hours. Ringo was the smallest about half the size of his brothers. It was amazing to watch this tiny little goat grow and thrive. Ringo is now the size of his brothers. They are very happy and playful goats.

Our ducks:
Our ducks are Indian Runner Ducks. At present we have four. We have two males and two females.
Their names are Daffodil, Gabriel, Aerial and Cyrel. They are very fast and look like little soldiers.
Our turkeys:
Our turkeys are Eastern Wild Turkeys. We have a large flock consisting of both male and females. They are friendly and have unique personalities. They are also curious and can be very funny.

Our chickens:
Penny is our rescue chicken. She was not a pretty girl when she came to the farm. Her friends had all been killed by a fox and she had spent three days in a tree before she was rescued.
At present time I have four Columbian Rocks two hens and two Roosters,I have three Americana Roosters, Ranger, Echo and Frosty. A pair of crested polish named Bonnie and Clyde, Speckled hamburgs, a silkie rooster named Cloud and our newest silkie addition is Tia who is very sweet and kind And her mate Thomas who is a fiery little red rooster who attacks. I catch him and cuddle him close and take him for a short walk when he is nasty and he settles after that, he likes being cuddled.

Our rabbits:
Our rabbits Honey and Snow earned their space on the farm after a friend from another community discovered them alone in a field where they were the only two of nine to have survived a coyote attack. After hearing of their ordeal we welcomed them to the safety of our farm.
Our rabbits Paisley, Marley, Copper and Pepper were a gift from my daughter, Lisa. Lisa and her family decided to buy two male Flemish Giant rabbits that were advertised for sale. They were beautiful rabbits and the family was very excited over these pets. One morning Lisa called in a panic. She said she found a baby bunny in the rabbit pen. At first, she had thought it was a mouse. She then realized that her 'male' rabbit, Clover, had given birth to 6 more babies for a total of 7. They grew fast and were very cute so Lisa and her family were devastated that they only had room to keep 3 of them. They were more devastated, however, that the only offers to take them were from people wanting to use them for meat. It became clear that they were meant to join the farm where they would be safe and Lisa and her family could come to visit. My husband, Gerd and I decided to take the bunnies to the farm and Lisa and her family could have visiting privileges and Lisa could relax knowing they were safe. Shortly after bringing the bunnies to the farm we discovered one of the bunnies was a female. Paisley is our little girl.
